WHO WE ARE
Mex-Pat Immigration Services (trading as MexPat), located in Bucerías, Nayarit, C.P. 63732, Mexico, is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. We provide Mexican residency assistance, translation and interpreting services in Puerto Vallarta, Nayarit and the Bay of Banderas. This notice explains how we handle information received through mexpat.mx, our intake forms, client portal, email, telephone and WhatsApp.
WHAT WE COLLECT
For inquiries, we collect the contact details and information you choose to share, such as your name, email address, telephone number and requested service.
For a client case, we may need passport and residency-card details, document scans, nationality, date and place of birth, addresses, family relationships, appointment dates, education, occupation, financial information and other details relevant to your process. We also keep case correspondence, service records and billing or payment records. The information needed depends on the service and each applicant’s circumstances.
Some immigration questionnaires request sensitive information, including religion, or other personal details required for the relevant application. We request such information only where relevant to the process and obtain the consent required by applicable law. Sending a general inquiry does not by itself provide written consent for every later use of sensitive information. Please do not send unnecessary sensitive documents through the general website contact form.
WHY WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use information to answer questions, arrange consultations, review your requested service, prepare and coordinate your case, communicate about documents and appointments, provide portal access, manage invoices and payments, and meet applicable obligations. For ongoing residency services, we may use your case dates and contact information to send renewal or follow-up reminders. You can ask us to stop optional reminders.
Optional promotional communications are separate from the information needed to deliver your service. You may decline or unsubscribe from marketing without affecting your case. We do not sell your personal information.
FORMS, PORTALS AND COMMUNICATIONS
We use GoDaddy for our website and Dubsado for intake forms, client records, scheduling and client portals. We also communicate through email and, when you choose it, WhatsApp. These providers process information through their own systems; their privacy notices explain their independent practices. Information may be processed or stored outside Mexico, depending on the provider.
Use your personal client portal link for case documents when available. Keep portal access details private. Email, messaging and online storage cannot be guaranteed completely secure.
WHEN INFORMATION IS SHARED
Information may be accessed by MexPat personnel working on your case and by technology providers supporting our services. Where needed for your requested process, relevant information may be provided to INM, consulates or other authorities, and to translators, interpreters or other professionals involved in your case. We obtain consent for transfers where required by law and distinguish service-provider processing from disclosures to independent recipients. We may also disclose information when legally required. We do not publish client documents or personal case details as advertising.
FAMILY APPLICATIONS AND CHILDREN
Each applicant’s information is used for their own case and any related family application. If you provide information for another adult, you must have authority to do so. A parent or legal guardian should provide and authorize the use of a child’s information. Please identify clearly which documents belong to each applicant.
RETENTION AND SECURITY
We retain information for the purposes described in this notice, including ongoing case assistance and applicable legal, accounting or dispute-related needs. Retention depends on the record and purpose; this notice does not promise a fixed deletion date for every document. Information that is no longer needed should be securely deleted or anonymized, subject to applicable retention obligations. You may ask us about the records held for your case.
Access should be limited to people who need information for their work. Please notify us promptly if you believe a document was sent to the wrong person or your portal access has been compromised.
YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
You may request access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, cancellation where applicable, or opposition to particular uses (ARCO rights). You may also ask to withdraw consent or limit optional uses or disclosures. Some records may need to be retained or processed to meet legal obligations or complete a requested service; we will explain any applicable limitation.
Send a privacy request through mexpat.mx/contact-us or WhatsApp at +52 322 200 0140, addressed to “MexPat — Privacy Request.” Include your name, a reply contact, the right you wish to exercise and enough detail to locate the relevant record. We may request proportionate proof of identity or authority before disclosing or changing information. Please do not send a passport scan in an initial privacy inquiry. We respond within the time limits required by applicable law.
